Vaastu Shastra – Designing Energetic and Harmonious Living Spaces
About

Vaastu Shastra, the ancient Indian architectural science, is rooted in specific laws and principles that guide how physical spaces should be designed and aligned. Just like other disciplines, Vaastu follows a logical structure to ensure that homes, offices, and buildings are in harmony with their intended function and the energies of the universe.
This time-honored system, believed to have been first recorded by the divine architect Vishwakarma around 3,000 years ago, focuses on creating environments that promote well-being. A space constructed in accordance with Vaastu principles allows its occupants to feel more energized, creative, and balanced, which in turn supports success in both personal and professional life. On the contrary, structures that defy Vaastu principles can invite conflict, stress, and disharmony.
Following Vaastu while constructing a space ensures not only physical comfort but also emotional stability, spiritual growth, and prosperity.

What Vaastu Shastra Covers
  • Designing interiors that uplift creativity, positivity, and enthusiasm.
  • Structuring spaces to promote calm, peace, and emotional balance.
  • Using appropriate colours and geometric shapes to channel vital energies.
  • Placing beds, desks, mirrors, and plants in directions that enhance stability and flow.
  • Aligning kitchen and bathrooms according to elemental directions prevents energy imbalance and supports health and hygiene.
Components of Vaastu Shastra

Vaastu is based on the principle that everything in the universe has a rightful place. In a home, each item and element—whether materialistic or spiritual—must be correctly positioned to ensure harmony and flow of positive energy. A Vaastu Shastri, trained in astrology, energy sciences, and philosophy, helps create a balanced environment between human needs and cosmic order.
Vaastu focuses on maximizing the flow of positive energies while minimizing negative influences. This is achieved by ensuring a balance of the five elements (Pancha Mahabhutas).

  • Agni (Fire/Light): Sufficient sunlight for warmth and energy.
  • Vayu (Air): Proper ventilation for freshness and energy circulation.
  • Jal (Water): Sources of water for hydration and purification.
  • Prithvi (Earth): Alignment with Earth’s magnetic field affects stability and organ health.
  • Aakash (Space): Cosmic energy from open space supports mental clarity and spiritual growth.
